Cavaliere Modesto Marini
Cavaliere Modesto Marini, founder of Marini’s Group, has been creating award-winning brands in the dining and entertainment industry for more than 25 years. Putting his passion into his business has taken Cav. Modesto into becoming one of Asia’s most successful entrepreneurs in the industry, to the point of being hailed as “The King of Italian Cuisine” by The Star, Malaysia’s leading English language daily.
A chef by profession and having graduated with high honours in culinary arts from northern Italy in the early ‘80s, Cav. Modesto spent some time in Italy, London and Singapore, working in some of the most prominent fine dining restaurants in the cities, before settling in Kuala Lumpur in 1995. Throughout his career, Cav. Modesto has served many international who’s who and celebrities.
Long famed for his creativity and unprecedented dining and entertainment concepts, Cav. Modesto established Marini’s on 57 in 2012, Kuala Lumpur’s highest rooftop and award-winning Italian restaurant, bar and lounge located on Level 57, Tower 3 Petronas. In 2014, he opened Marble 8, an exclusive bar, lounge and restaurant specialising in dry-aged beef, also located within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre precinct; and the chic M Marini Caffè, the city’s first champagne and caviar bar that also prides itself with gourmet Italian coffee, nestled alongside international fashion brands within the Suria KLCC mall, in the Petronas Towers.

Note: Cav. Modesto Marini was awarded the prestigious Ordine Della Stella D’Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) in October 2016, which carries the title “Cavaliere”, and is regarded as one of the highest civilian honours of the Italian Government. It recognises Italians living abroad who have been instrumental in the preservation and promotion of national prestige, and including but not limited to philanthropic activities, commercial enterprises and promotion of Italian food and wine.
